Vol. 113 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Clare Holdings.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a number of houses in Ballinruan, County Clare, which were vacated by migrants some years ago, are rapidly deteriorating, and whether he can now indicate when the holdings concerned will be divided amongst the congests in the area.

The houses and lands on hands of the Land Commission in the Ballinruan area are intended to be utilised in a scheme for the rearrangement of rundale holdings in the district. Proposals in the matter are at present under consideration, but I am unable to state when the scheme is likely to be ready for operation. All rearrangement work is of its nature difficult and tedious, but I can assure the Deputy that in this case there will be no avoidable delay.
