I assume that by the expression "full-time posts" the Deputy means permanent posts. My Department is at present engaged in a review of salaries, duties and conditions of employment of all assistance officers and pending the completion of this review it is not considered desirable to have any new permanent appointments made to the assistance officer grade. The review is being pressed forward as expeditiously as possible and when it is completed I will be in a position to deal with the question of permanent appointments.
