Vol. 114 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North County Dublin Regional Water Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is in a position to state when the North County Dublin Regional water scheme will be commenced and what areas will be served by the scheme.

Mr. Murphy

I am not in a position to say when work will be commenced on this scheme. As explained in my reply to a question by Deputy Dunne on 24th November last, this is a scheme of major importance which requires very careful formulation. A large mass of preliminary details in connection with the planning of the scheme was submitted by the local authority last month and is being examined in the Department.

It is proposed that the scheme will serve the areas of Swords, Portmarnock, Malahide, Kinsaley, Coolock, Raheny, Drumcondra Rural, Finglas, Blanchardstown and Castleknock.
