Vol. 114 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phnix Park Gate Lodges.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that most of the Phnix Park gate lodges are unhygienic; that some of them are very damp; that some are devoid of lighting, and that the sanitary accommodation of some of them is of the most primitive kind; and, if so, whether he will state the steps he proposes to take to remedy these serious defects.

I am not aware that the gate lodges in the Phnix Park have the serious defects referred to in the question. Although not of modern construction, they have been well maintained and, as circumstances permitted, have been progressively improved.

Mr. Byrne

Is it intended further to improve the gate lodges referred to as having serious defects? Has an examination been made of the defects referred to?
