Vol. 114 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dublin Bus Terminus.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the situation of the proposed new bus terminus at Store Street will cause dislocation of traffic travelling north and south; and, if so, whether he will state the nature of plans designed to meet this difficulty.

The preparation of proposals to deal with any traffic problems arising out of the location of the proposed new bus terminus is a matter for the Dublin Corporation in the first instance. Certain street improvements which would have a bearing on the position referred to by the Deputy are proposed by the corporation, but their plans cannot be effectively implemented pending the acquisition of all the lands required for the scheme. These lands are held by the Dublin Port and Docks Board, who have expressed their unwillingness to dispose of one portion that is considered essential for an effective road scheme.
