Vol. 114 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North County Dublin Water Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there is grave disappointment amongst the residents of Donabate and Lusk over his decision not to extend the North County Dublin regional water scheme to those areas; and, if so, whether he will reconsider the matter.

Mr. Murphy

I have not given any such decision as is referred to by the Deputy. It is entirely a matter for the Dublin Corporation, as water supplier, and the Dublin County Council to define the areas to be served by the scheme.

Is the Minister aware that when I asked him a question about housing in Donabate, he told me that a certain number of houses would have to await water and sewerage schemes? Is the Minister further aware that in answer to my question, he said that the original water scheme was not going any further than Swords? I do not know how he can reconcile the answers to both these questions.

Mr. Murphy

May I refer the Deputy to the terms of the question which he has asked—whether there is grave disappointment over my decision not to extend the North County Dublin regional water scheme? I have informed him that I have given no such decision.
