There is no record of any recent application referring to such officers in County Cork solely. About two years ago there was correspondence between the county manager and the Department in regard to salaries of town clerks in urban districts in Cork with a population of less than 3,000 and at that time it was pointed out to the county manager that the salaries of these officers had only recently been substantially increased.
