Work is at present in progress on 102 cottages in the Carlow County Health District, and contracts have been placed for a further 38 on which work has not yet begun. Forty-two cottages have been completed since March, 1947. In addition to the foregoing it is hoped that work will be commenced on a further 100 cottages in the rural areas during the present calendar year. I understand that the council are making arrangements for the acquisition of the sites required to ensure continuity in their house-building programme.
