Vol. 120 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether a survey of the housing needs of Ballyhahill village has been made by the Limerick County Council; and, if so, if he will state the result.

I understand that a survey of the housing needs of Ballyhahill carried out by the Limerick County Council last year indicated a need for one new house in the village.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether a survey of the housing needs of the village of Mountcollins has been made by the Limerick County Council; and, if so, if he will state the result of such survey.

I understand that a survey of the housing needs of Mountcollins carried out by the Limerick County Council last year indicated a need for 12 new houses in the village.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether any proposals for a further housing scheme for Glin have been submitted to his Department by the Limerick County Council; and, if so, if he will state the present position.

Proposals for a scheme of 24 houses at Glin were submitted for approval by Limerick County Council but were considered unsuitable as regards lay-out and consequent excessive development costs. It was, therefore, suggested to the council that a revised lay-out should be considered. I understand that revised proposals are in course of preparation.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether a survey of the housing needs of Tournafulla has been made by the Limerick County Council; and, if so, if he will state the result.

I understand that a survey of the housing needs of Tournafulla was carried out by the Limerick County Council which indicated that four houses are required to satisfy the needs of the village.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether any survey of the housing needs of Broadford village has been made by the Limerick County Council; and, if so, if he will state the result.

I understand that a survey of the housing needs of Broadford, carried out by the Limerick County Council early this year, indicated a need for three new houses in the village.
