Mr. Killilea

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount of money expended on minor employment and bog development schemes, excluding rural improvement schemes, in each western county from 1926 to 1950, inclusive, and the total amount spent each year in the remainder of the country over the same period.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

The expression "each western county" in the question has been taken as relating to the province of Connacht. Detailed records of expenditure prior to the financial year 1932-33 are not available in my office, but apart from that the following is the information asked for. (The figures quoted for 1949-50 are subject to final check and audit.)
