Vol. 123 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - “Three-Club Plan.”

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of applications he has received from Macra na Feirme for assistance under the "three-club plan" and the number of agricultural advisers who have taken up duty under the scheme.

Up to the 11th November, 1950, 28 groups of Macra na Feirme, representing 86 clubs, have applied for assistance in the form of technical advice under the "three-club plan". No advisory officers have as yet been appointed, but three officers will take up duty next week. Preliminary survey work in one of the group areas is at present being carried out by a technical officer of my Department, and suitable projects will be undertaken as soon as these preliminaries have been completed.

Can the Minister state if a sufficient number of advisory officers is available to carry out those duties?
