Vol. 123 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Itinerants' Horses.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware of the danger to the health of horses caused by the large number of itinerants' horses grazing along the public roads and which, at this time of the year, are often infected with "strangles"; if so, if he will take steps to remedy this situation.

There is no evidence that the incidence of "strangles" in horses, whether owned by itinerants or farmers, is serious. The position does not call for any special action on my part.
