asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) whether an application was made about two years ago for the clearing of streams and drains responsible for the flooding of the lands of at least 14 farmers in Clandanure, E.D. Reen, Kenmare, County Kerry; (2) whether a survey of the area has since been made, and (3) whether a grant is to be made available for the execution of the scheme.

This appears to be a case in which an offer of a grant under the rural improvements scheme was made to the landholders concerned in October, 1948, but was not accepted. In view of the revision of the terms of the scheme, I shall now have the case reopened.
