Vol. 123 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational School.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that a large area of South Meath is very badly in need of a vocational school and, since the village of Longwood is the natural centre for such a school, he will have the position examined with a view to having a school erected there.

Such an examination as the Deputy suggests of the position in South Meath could only properly be carried out, in the first instance, by the Meath Vocational Education Committee.

Until a formal proposal had come forward from the committee, accompanied by the detailed information purporting to substantiate the case for a school at Longwood, I would not be able to consider or decide the matter.
