asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state, in respect of the supplementary unemployment fund, the total amounts (a) contributed by employers and work people, and (b) paid in reimbursement to employers of supplementary benefits paid during the financial year 1949-50 and during the present financial year to date.

The total amounts brought to the credit of the fund during the financial year 1949-50 and during the current financial year to 30th September, 1950, in respect of contributions by employers and work people were £48,124 and £26,612 respectively. The total amounts paid to employers during the financial year 1949-50 and during the current financial year to 30th September, 1950, in reimbursement of supplementary benefits paid by them were £39,667 and £19,167 respectively.
