Vol. 123 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drangan Regional Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Drangan Co-operative Creamery has to have water conveyed from three miles distance where the nearest source exists, and if he will explain the reason for the delay in extending the Fethard (County Tipperary) regional water supply to Drangan and Killenaule.

I have no information regarding the supply of water to Drangan Co-operative Creamery.

The Tipperary (S.R.) County Council have under consideration a regional water supply scheme which is intended to serve a number of villages, including Drangan and Killenaule, but the scheme is only at the preliminary stage.

It is understood that the engineering consultant is at present preparing for the council a revised report dealing with the scheme generally, including the results of the gaugings of the source and the various extensions to the scheme, which have been recommended by the council since his original report was submitted.
