Vol. 124 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Malahide New School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when it is proposed to erect the new school at Malahide, County Dublin.

The erection of a new boys' school at Malahide is regarded as a very urgent matter and has been so regarded for some time. Before the Department can proceed with final arrangements for the erection of the school it will be necessary to have the site vested in the trustees. Delay has been occasioned up to now by reason of the fact that certain difficulties existed in connection with the provision of evidence of title to the site. I understand that these have been so far resolved that it is expected that the proof of title required in order to enable the site to be vested in trustees by an official lease will be forthcoming at an early date. Every effort is being made to have this and other necessary preliminary arrangements completed as soon as possible so that a grant towards the cost of the new school may be sanctioned.
