NOTES. — Carlow and Kildare County Councils had arranged that Bord na Móna would supply their turf requirements in exchange for the temporary transfer of council workers to the board's employment. This arrangement ceased as from 17th May, 1951. Kildare County Council then undertook production themselves. Carlow County Council because of lack of suitable bogs cannot undertake a scheme and are considering arrangements for the supply of turf from other sources.
Dublin County Council decided to procure turf from private contractors.
Wexford County Council were unable to engage in turf production owing to lack of suitable bog.
