Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is proposed by the Electricity Supply Board to extend rural electrification to the village of Kilmainhamwood, County Meath; and, if so, when.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the Kilmainhamwood rural area was considered for selection in November, 1950, and again in May, 1951, together with other areas in the Dundalk district, but was not selected for development because the economic return was not as favourable as that of other areas.

The board state that this area will again be considered in the late autumn of this year and that the prospects of it being selected for early development will depend on whether a higher percentage of householders will agree to accept supply.
