Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Daingean Sewerage Scheme.

Mr. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Local Government whether it is a fact that work on a sewerage scheme for Daingean commenced over six years ago and is still uncompleted; and, if so, when the Offaly County Council intend to have the work completed.

I understand that work on this scheme was commenced in August, 1946, that there was a very long delay in the delivery of the pumping plant and that the scheme when completed showed certain defects which are at present being remedied. It is hoped that the scheme will shortly be handed over to the sanitary authority.
