Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inspection of Voters' Lists.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether, in view of the fact that many electors are not aware that they have an opportunity between the 24th November and the 22nd December of themselves inspecting the voters' lists displayed during that period in post offices, libraries, Garda stations, dispensaries and offices of local authorities, and of claiming their vote if their names have been omitted from the voters' lists, he will arrange for a series of broadcasts on and after 24th November, instructing the public as to the necessary procedure for claiming votes.

Arrangements have been made for broadcasts to give publicity to the publication of electors' lists, and to advise the public of their rights and of the procedure to be followed in regard to the making of claims for registration as electors.

What are the dates upon which objections to the draft register must be published and the dates for new applications?

I think six weeks after the 5th of November.

I think it is a shorter time than six weeks.
