Vol. 130 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price for Pigs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what will be the minimum price per cwt. payable for pigs in Ireland when an export surplus of pigs and bacon becomes available in view of the increase in pork prices recently fixed in Great Britain at the annual price review.

I am not aware that the results of the 1952 annual agricultural price review in Great Britain have yet been announced. As I indicated in the House on 19th March, I hope that as things stand it will be possible to pay pig producers here up to about 240/-per cwt. dead-weight when exports of pigs and bacon are resumed.
