Vol. 130 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Facilities for Cork Bus Passengers.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether Córas Iompair Eireann have any immediate plans for the construction of up-to-date facilities for passengers at their bus terminus in Parnell Place, Cork City, and if, in view of the extreme congestion during the summer months, he will suggest consideration by the company of the practicability of using the nearby Bandon railway terminus, where adequate shelter and space are available, as the depot for bus services on the Passage West, Crosshaven and Kinsale routes, which would have the advantage of relieving overcrowding and avoiding increased traffic over busy city bridges.

The provision of bus shelter facilities does not come within the matters in respect of which the Minister for Industry and Commerce has statutory functions.
