Vol. 131 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Complaints against Department Inspector.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether he has received any complaints from a draper or drapers in Mitchelstown as to the way in which the official duties of an inspector of his Department were carried out; and, if so, if the complaints have been investigated and what were the results of the investigations.

One such complaint was received and has been investigated. I regret to say that, in the course of a price control inspection, the cellophane wrapping on two pairs of sheets was torn when it was being removed in order that the manufacturer's price could be seen. Appropriate instructions have now been issued to prevent a repetition of the occurrence.
