asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received a letter from the Dún Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee, with reference to the higher charges for electricity for technical institutes in Dún Laoghaire, over those charged to similar institutes in Dublin City; and, if so, if he will have the matter investigated by the Electricity Supply Board with a view to having a reduction effected.

I have received the letter to which the Deputy refers. I have no function in connection with the fixing of scales of charges for electricity. The responsibility in this matter rests under statute with the Electricity Supply Board.
