Vol. 134 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Planting on Arable Land.

Mr. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the Forestry Division have fenced in for planting over 100 acres of good arable land on the Decies Estate at Kinnity, County Offaly; and, if so whether he will ensure that all arable land on this estate is made available for division amongst local uneconomic holders.

The Land commission are arranging to take over all the good agricultural land they require on this estate. The area remaining with the Forestry Division will include some arable land required for nursery purposes.
