Vol. 134 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of New Head Post Offices.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state what is the present position regarding the provision of a new head post office at Enniscorthy.

It is not proposed to erect a new head post office at Enniscorthy. Improvement of accommodation in the existing post office building is proposed, and tenders have been received for the execution of the necessary structural work. It is hoped that this may be put in hand at an early date.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state what is the present position regarding the provision of a new head post office at Letterkenny.

Architectural staff is, at present, engaged on the preliminary work involved in the preparation of plans for a new post office and telephone exchange at Letterkenny. Whilst my Department expects to receive preliminary sketch plans at an early date, it is not possible to say, at this stage, when building work will commence.
