Vol. 134 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Fermoy County Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state when he will be in a position to approve of the advertising for tenders to renovate the wing in Fermoy County Hospital.

I approved of the architectural plans as finally passed for this project on the 15th September, 1951, and in the normal course the next stage would have been the preparation of a bill of quantities, followed by the invitation of tenders. This work has, however, been held up pending settlement of the engineering services proposals. I understand that the local authority have now received these proposals and that when any amendments which they entail have been incorporated in the working drawings it should be possible to proceed with the preparation of a bill of quantities and to invite tenders early in the New Year.
