I move:—
That a supplementary sum not exceeding £12,000 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1953, for Rates and Contributions in lieu of Rates, etc., in respect of Government Property, and for Contributions towards Rates on Premises occupied by Representatives of External Governments.
This is the supplementary sum which is usually required on this Vote towards the end of the year when the rates have been struck and the amount which the Government should pay in lieu of rates can properly be determined.
