Vol. 136 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - E.S.B. Employee.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the E.S.B. tribunal has decided recently in respect of an employee that in the absence of any supporting evidence the tribunal is unable to adjudicate on the matter; and, if so, if he will arrange to have the old cost-of-living index figure made available so that this employee's case may be considered.

As I pointed out, in reply to another question by the Deputy on the 5th November last, I have no function in relation to the salaries paid to officials of the E.S.B.

Is the Minister aware that since his reply to a previous question on this matter the E.S.B. tribunal has considered this case and decided that, because of the absence of a cost-of-living index figure on the old basis, they could not adjudicate on the matter? In the circumstances would the Minister consider facilitating them by publishing the figures?
