Vol. 136 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glengariff Road Improvements.

asked the Minister for Finance whether proposals have been submitted to him for (a) the improvement of an accommodation and bog road at Lickeen West, Glengariff, and (b) the improvement of a road at Coomarkane, Glengariff; and, if so, if he will indicate what action he has taken on the proposals.

The two areas referred to form part of the electoral division of Kilcaskan which has already received its proportionate share of this season's employment schemes; and it is not possible to sanction any further schemes at this stage.

My office has before it a proposal for the repair of a bog road in the townland of Lickeen East (not West, as stated in the question) and a number of road work proposals for the townland of Coomarkane; and they will be considered on their merits in connection with future programmes ofemployment schemes. If the Deputy will let me have some further particulars of the two works which he has in mind I shall ensure that they are among those noted for future consideration.
