asked the Taoiseach if he will state the number and value of tin plate milk cans (ten gallons, 12 gallons and 15 gallons capacity) imported from Germany, Sweden and other countries during 1952, the amount of duty paid thereon, and the average cost of each type of can.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imported Milk Cans.
I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantity (in cwt.), value and average c.i.f. price per cwt. of milk cans imported from Germany, Sweden and other countries during 1952. These statistics are compiled according to the Official Import List which does not distinguish either cans manufactured from tin plate or the capacity of cans. It is understood that the duty on the articles is question was suspended during the year 1952.
