Vol. 139 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary National School.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the appalling overcrowded condition, lack of adequate staff, the narrow limit of the children's playground and the defective sanitary accommodation in Littleton National School, County Tipperary; and, if so, if he will state what proposals he has for the remedying of these conditions.

I am aware that this school is overcrowded at present and representations have been made that the play-space is restricted and that the sanitary accommodation is unsuitable.

The position is being investigated with a view to seeing what remedial measures can be taken.

I am having inquiries made also as to whether the present staffing of the school can be considered adequate, having regard to the enrolment and attendance of pupils.
