Vol. 140 No. 4

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the following items: Nos. 2, 9, 6 and in No. 6 (Votes 47, 48, 49 and 66).

Could the Tánaiste give any indication, either to-day or to-morrow, of what business it is intended to submit to the House from now until the Recess?

We considered that this morning and a list has been prepared. It was contemplated that some discussion with the Whips would take place in the matter to-day.

On what days is it proposed to sit next week?

That is one of the matters which could be discussed by the Whips.

Could we get some definite pattern whether it will be on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, or Wednesday, Thursday or Friday?

As the matter stands we will meet as ordinarily except that on Thursday we meet from 10.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. There may be general agreement to sit longer hours in order to make greater expedition in regard to the business. That is a matter which might be discussed to-day as well as the programme for the session and an arrangement might be made.

It would not be desirable to change the order for the week except notice was previously given.

One of the proposals is that we should sit on Friday. I think most Deputies will consider that undesirable.

Do I understand that it is proposed to dispose of the Army Pensions Bill and the Courts of Justice Bill?

Yes, all stages of both these Bills. They will be on our list.

At what target is the Government aiming?

I am afraid I am not in a position to aim. We are not near enough to the target to aim at it.
