Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Laoighis Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if and when the Land Commission proposes to acquire for division the Thompson estate, Iney, Ballyfin, Mountrath, Laoighis, in view of the great local congestion and the prolonged agitation for a scheme of division.

Inquiries undertaken by the Land Commission regarding this estate have not been concluded.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of 157 acres of these lands, but it is not possible at present to state whether or when the lands will be acquired.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission will now consider the acquisition of the balance of the Robinson estate, Kilnacash, Mountmellick, Laoighis, for division amongst the local deserving applicants.

There is nothing to add to the reply given to the Deputy's question of 28th February, 1952, in this matter.
