I am aware that the soldiers' married quarters at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa (formerly Renmore Barracks), Galway, have not provided a satisfactory standard of accommodation of the occupants for many years. By way of improvement to the married quarters block, bathrooms with wash-hand basins, baths and a hot water supply are now being provided there.
The relief of overcrowding in certain existing quarters is under consideration in conjunction with a scheme to improve the housing conditions of married soldiers at the larger military centres including Dún Mhaoilíosa.
