Vol. 147 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fair Trade Commission.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the number of investigations so far held by the Fair Trade Commission, (b) the number of recommendations made to him as a result of such investigations, and (c) if and when he proposes to take action to implement the recommendations.

The Fair Trade Commission have undertaken and completed two inquiries into the supply and distribution of goods. Two further inquiries are in progress at present.

Reports have been furnished to me by the commission in the case of the two inquiries which have been completed. I am at present considering the contents of these reports and the action, if any, which should be taken thereon.

Would the Minister be able to tell us the results of which two inquiries are now in his possession?

Reports have been received in respect of the inquiry into the radio trade and in respect of the supply and distribution of building materials and components. Two other inquiries are in progress at the moment.
