Vol. 147 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Estates Acquisition.

andMr. J.J. Collins asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position in regard to the acquisition for division of the Monsell estate, Tervoe, County Limerick.

Proceedings for the acquisition of this estate have reached the final stage.

Possession will probably be taken in the coming year.

andMr. J.J. Collins asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Donovan estate, Cooltomin, County Limerick, which was offered for sale to the Land Commission over a year ago, has yet come into its possession, and, if so, when division is likely to take place.

These lands were not offered for sale to the Land Commission at any stage. Acquisition proceedings have been instituted, and are at an advanced stage, but as possession has not so far been taken by the Land Commission it is not yet possible to state when the division of the lands is likely to take place.

Did the Minister say the lands were never offered?

No, they were not.

I understood they were.

andMr. J.J. Collins asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring for division the lands of the late Miss Gleeson, Greybridge, Meanus, County Limerick, and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands, but they are having inquiries made about the matter.
