I am not aware of any hardship to the persons mentioned by the Deputy by reason of the monthly payment of their pensions and allowances. The possibility of paying pensions and allowances granted under the Acts administered by my Department weekly instead of monthly has, however, been carefully examined, but, in view of the heavy cost which would be involved in the provision of additional staff, I regret the alteration would not be justified.
