Information concerning the total expenditure from all sources in connection with An Tóstal in 1953 and 1954 is not available, and could not be procured without undertaking inquiries of an unduly extensive character. The following particulars may, however, be sufficient for the Deputy's purpose: expenditure incurred in connection with An Tóstal 1953 by An Bord Fáilte was £30,000; by Fógra Fáilte was £47,000 and by the Office of Public Works £2,650. Corresponding expenditure in connection with An Tóstal, 1954, was £57,000 by An Bord Fáilte; £24,000 by Fógra Fáilte and £3,700 by the Office of Public Works.
For 1955, the expenditure is estimated at £30,000 in the case of An Bord Fáilte, £2,700 in the case of Fógra Fáilte and £500 in the case of the Office of Public Works. In addition, the Fógra Fáilte advertising campaigns in Britain and the United States of America this spring, at an estimated cost of £36,000, will specially feature An Tóstal.
