Vol. 150 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Dispensary District.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that people in the Coom dispensary district, Rathmore, which extends westward to within one mile of Kilcummin Post Office, are obliged to travel 11 miles to the Rathmore dispensary to register births and deaths, and, if so, if he will consider the desirability of permitting such registrations to be made at Scrahanfadda dispensary, which is in a central position so far as the farthest portion of the dispensary district is concerned.

The present arrangements for the registration of births, deaths and marriages in the Coom dispensary were approved by An tÁrd Chláraitheóir in August, 1951. No previous complaint has been made to my Department in regard to these arrangements, but in virtue of the representations made by the Deputy, I am having the question of providing registration facilities at Scrahanfadda dispensary depot examined.
