The Land Commission have on hands in County Limerick two holdings comprising 111 acres reserved for migrants. Migrants have not yet been approved for the holdings, so no firm offer of an exchange has been made though the holdings have been shown to applicants for exchange. The holdings will be allotted as soon as suitable migrants have been selected and this may be within the next few months. Just now I do not wish to disclose the location of the holdings. The Deputy will understand that the primary consideration with the Land Commission in the selection of migrants must be the merit of their existing lands for the relief of congestion in the home locality.

The Land Commission have acquired these estates, the Maunsell estate quite recently, but it is not possible to indicate at present when allotment will take place. The claims of all local applicants will be fully considered.
