Vol. 155 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Maunsell estate, Tervoe, County Limerick, or portion of it, has been leased, and, if so, if he will state the name of the lessee and the terms and conditions of the lease; further, what matters are now holding up the distribution of those lands among the uneconomic holders.

I presume the Deputy is referring to the conacre and grazing lettings made for the current season after possession of the estate was taken early this year. In all, seven parties in the locality have taken lettings. These lettings were made in accordance with normal practice in order to derive revenue from the lands pending their disposal. The claims of all applicants for land on the estate must be fully investigated before a scheme for its division can be formulated.
