Vol. 155 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Afforestation in West Clare.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the present position in regard to the various offers, for forestry purposes, of land in or near Corkscrew Hill, Ballyvaughan, County Clare.

My Department is interested in a block of land comprising 470 acres in the Corkscrew Hill district which was inspected some time ago but further progress is being impeded owing to the existence of turbary rights over a major portion of the area. Efforts are being made to get over this difficulty. A further offer of 150 acres in the district was also received recently and this is being investigated.
