asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the increase which will take place in the cost-of-living index figure as a result of the Budget proposals.

It is estimated that the effect on the Consumer Price Index of the withdrawal of the food subsidies and of the taxation imposed by the Budget will be a rise of approximately 4½ points.
