Costings of military hospitals, which are the principal element in Army Medical Services, are undertaken at intervals of about three years and the latest figures available are for the year ended 31st December, 1954. For that year the estimated cost of operating the Curragh Military Hospital, which serves the Kildare Area, together with the cost of unit medical services, amounted to about £72,000.
