The estimated annual increase, as a result of the Budget proposals, in the cost of food for the Defence Forces (including allowances in lieu of food payable to certain non-commissioned officers and privates) is £23,000. With regard to petrol, it is intended to make every effort to keep within the amount provided in the Estimates for this item.
