Vol. 161 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry County Council Loan.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the date on which application was received from Kerry County Council for loan accommodation of £12,500 from the Local Loans Fund for the completion of their No. 2 scheme of water pumps for rural areas and how soon the local authority may expect the loan to be allocated.

The council's application for a loan of £12,000 from the Local Loans Fund for the No. 2 scheme of pumps was received in my Department on the 6th October, 1956. A reply was issued to the council stating that as the fund was being conserved for major capital works, it would be advisable for them to consider obtaining the loan from some other source. At a later date, the council renewed their application and were again advised to seek the loan elsewhere.
