Vol. 164 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Dental Service.

asked the Minister for Health whether, and to what extent, in relation to dental services, priority will continue to be given with his approval to the building up of the school dental service.

The question of affording priority to any class of persons eligible for local authority dental services is a matter for the local authorities responsible for the administration of these services. As I have explained in reply to previous questions on this matter, however, it is the policy to impress on local authorities that, in the utilisation of their present limited resources of money, personnel and equipment, they should continue to give priority to the provision of dental services for schoolchildren and such other children as may be eligible for such services.
