Vol. 165 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Central Asylum, Dundrum.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state, with reference to the Central Asylum, Dundrum, County Dublin, the nature of the report of the dietician called in some time ago on the cooking facilities used, and the weekly hospital consumption of the following items: meat, fish, butter, jam, bread, potatoes, vegetables, eggs, flake meal, milk, and tea.

It is presumed that the Deputy is referring to a visit by my Department's dietician to the asylum in 1955. This officer was not called upon to report on the nature of the cooking facilities.

As the reply to the second part of the question is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, a Cheann Comhairle, with your permission, to circulate it with the Official Report.

The statement, I should say, is prepared by reference to a recent seven-day period. The items comprising vegetables vary in accordance with seasonal supplies.
